New OA Option from Cambridge University Press

University of Washington authors have a new option for Open Access publishing with Cambridge University Press. Cambridge University Press is waiving UW author Open Access fees for some of its journals, allowing authors to make their articles open to all readers on the publisher’s platform without cost. Authors will not have to pay the usual Article Processing Charge (APC) for research articles published OA in Cambridge University Press’s hybrid and gold OA journals. This option has been made possible through a recent agreement between Cambridge University Press and the Orbis Cascade Alliance (including the UW Libraries).

A list of eligible journals is linked from Cambridge University Press’s website. More information about this new program is available on the UW Libraries blog.

The Library can work with faculty to explore Open Access publishing options and to deposit articles in the UW’s OA institutional repository, ResearchWorks. Please let us know how we can help! The UW Libraries is not funded to pay individual APCs outside of the agreement with Cambridge University Press. Please visit the Library’s publishing guide for more information and contact us with any questions.
