  • Digital Scholarship Consultations with the UW Bothell Library
    We’re available to meet with you one-on-one about your interests in digital scholarship and open pedagogy using the Library’s digital scholarship hosting platforms. Contact us to set up a time! We’re experienced with:

    • getting started with the UW Libraries’ digital scholarship platforms (Pressbooks, WordPress, Omeka, SPLOTS, domains, etc.)

    • Introduction to UW Libraries Pressbooks Workshop

      UW Libraries Pressbooks for beginners! Get started with Pressbooks and learn about creating textbooks, monographs, and teaching materials in this open online platform. This workshop will include examples of recent projects at UW, and will help you get started with open publishing or open pedagogy using Pressbooks.

  • Fair Use Workshop

    In this interactive workshop on fair use you will consider the four factors of fair use, compare fair use analyses in different contexts, and find clear resources for more information.
  • Digital Scholarship Summer Immersion (DSSI): Omeka, SPLOTs, Manifold

    Learn about three of the Libraries’ new digital scholarship platforms in a series of stand-alone workshops. Join us for just one or all three!

      In this interactive introduction to Omeka, you will learn about Omeka and how it has been used to build digital collections and exhibits, practice adding items and metadata to collections, and build a simple exhibit

      For all instructors looking for an alternative to the traditional research paper! Explore two different WordPress-based SPLOT teaching templates for open pedagogy projects, and consider how you might incorporate them into your teaching.

      Learn how to create the world’s fastest book using the Manifold digital book publishing platform! Upload text and integrate images, media and annotation features.
  • Data Visualization Summer Series
    Monday, August 9 – Friday, August 13
    Learn about the fundamentals of collecting, cleaning, and visualizing data. Participate in a cohort track with synchronous sessions August 9, 12:00-1:00 pm, and August 12, 9:00-10:00am, or learn at your own pace with on-demand workshop materials.
  • Story Maps Summer Series

    Learn to use StoryMapsJS to tell stories with geospatial content. Participate in a chort track with synchronous sessions August 16, 1:00-2:00 and August 18, 1:00-2:00pm, or learn at your own pace with on-demand workshop materials.
